Home Modernization Navigator Program Comes To Lynn

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) is expanding its pilot program to Lynn.

The Home Modernization Navigator pilot program is a no-cost service that helps residents improve their homes and lower their energy bills by providing personalized support for energy upgrades, electrification, and efficiency improvements.

The program provides one-on-one guidance via phone, video calls, and community office hours to help residents identify their goals, access available incentives and financing, and provide technical guidance on the following:

Appliances and Yard Equipment

  • Clean Electricity
  • Electrical Upgrades
  • Energy Bill Savings
  • Heating and Cooling
  • Transportation
  • Weatherization

The Home Modernization Navigator pilot program prioritizes engagement with renters, rental property owners, low-income households, and residents who speak languages other than English — addressing persistent gaps in participation in clean energy programs and ensuring equitable access to savings and comfort.

Mayor Jared Nicholson and Senator Brendan Crighton voiced their support for the program.

“The MassCEC has been partnering with the City on various projects, all with the common goal of advancing clean energy and energy efficiency,’ Nicholson said. “We are excited to expand on our efforts through the Home Modernization Navigator, which strives to provide equitable access to energy savings, especially for those who may not yet have had the opportunity to participate in initiatives such as this.”

Crighton said, “The Home Modernization Navigator supports residents looking to lower their energy bills while implementing clean energy upgrades, and I am thrilled to see this successful program expand to Lynn. Thank you to the Healey-Driscoll Administration and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center for their support of programs that balance affordability with sustainability.”

Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rebecca Tepper commented on how the program is addressing systemic barriers within the community.

“The Home Modernization Navigator pilot program is helping break down barriers that keep too many families from making badly needed upgrades to their homes, saving them money. As we grow into more communities, we’re ensuring that more people can access savings and the best heating and cooling technology,” she said.
