Through the Commonwealth Nonprofit Security Personnel Grant Program, The Arthur J. Epstein Hillel School in Marblehead has been awarded $31,200 to assist with the cost of contracted security personnel. These grants are allocated to support improvements to security and protective measures for nonprofit organizations and are administered through the Office of Grants and Research.
“At a time when antisemitism continues to be an ongoing threat, every student and teacher deserves to feel safe in the classroom,” Sen. Brendan Crighton said. “We are proud to partner with the Healey-Driscoll Administration to provide the critical resources needed to protect our schools and organizations from violence and hate.”
“With antisemitism continuing unabated, it is critically important that Jewish institutions like Epstein Hillel School receive the security resources they need,” Rep. Jenny Armini said. “All children should be able to go to school unafraid. Senator Crighton and I saw firsthand the incredible work the school does to create a safe, nurturing educational environment.”
“EHS is very grateful to the Commonwealth for making these funds available,” said Michael Slater, director of Finance & Operations at Epstein Hillel School. “This grant allows us to continue to provide on-site security—an important step in ensuring our students, staff, and families feel safe and supported during these challenging times.”
